Overview

We are seeking a CNC Machinist I to support production operations in a machine shop environment. This position is responsible for independently operating CNC machines, making minor tool and offset adjustments, and ensuring parts meet quality and production standards. The CNC Machinist I works closely with a Lead Person or Supervisor for more complex adjustments and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines independently with minimal supervision
  • Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements
  • Monitor machine operation and inspect parts for conformance to specifications
  • Perform visual inspections and use measuring devices to verify quality
  • Set required offsets after basic tool setup is completed
  • Interpret CNC programs including feeds, speeds, tooling, canned cycles, coolant use, and axis movements
  • Stop production and escalate issues when quality concerns arise
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks including fluid levels, system pressure, tooling wear, lubrication, and cleaning
  • Accurately record production results at job completion or end of shift
  • Properly tag and disposition scrap and move to designated areas
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and follow 5S practices
  • Meet production quotas and labor standards
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of machining experience or vocational machining education
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings, including GD&T
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges
  • Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, percentages, and conversions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to enter production data
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
