Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Maintenance Technicians at our Mogadore, OH facility located just outside of Akron.

Salary: $29.56–$38 per hour depending on experience. $2,500 sign‑on bonus.

Schedule:

Rotating 12‑hour shifts – 4 nights, 3 days off, 3 day shifts, 1 day off, 4 nights, 3 days off, 4 day shifts, 7 days off. You’ll get one full week off every fourth week.

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through a quality maintenance program.
• Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
• Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner.
• Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manual for equipment pertaining to the business to aid in performing tasks.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high‑volume environment.
• Support a safe working environment by maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wearing appropriate PPE.
• Be willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• Troubleshoot electrical and/or mechanical problems and repair and maintain all equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Complete mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot and repair automated systems with remote technical support.

• At least one year of maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment.
• Experience reading technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment.

• Electrical certification, technical schooling, or other related educational certifications/degrees.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors, and electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry.
• Experience working with 480‑volt motors.
• Experience working with hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
