Blow Molding Operator - Entry Level

Starting wage: 1st shift $18 per hour; 3rd shift additional $2.00 per hour.

The 3rd shift is paid at a higher wage due to a shift differential.

The purpose of a Blow Molding Operator is to ensure that parts manufactured and packaged meet customer expectations within the standards set for each job. Operators learn and maintain customer quality expectations through quality system procedures and on‑the‑job training, understand production standards, communicate variances to supervisors, perform all activities safely, report safety concerns or injuries, and keep work areas clean and organized.

• Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude with co‑workers, employer, customers and suppliers.
• Perform activities in a safe manner.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
• Learn and apply quality and production standards to all customer parts assigned to work on.
• Learn and run all Blow Molding machines, parts, jobs, secondary and processes.
• Handle parts properly and remove them safely.
• Keep up with established job rates.
• Log all rejects and track all production counts.
• Ensure customer quality expectations are met.
• Ensure that good parts are not discarded unnecessarily.
• Assist in on‑the‑job training of new associates assigned to your area, including proper job‑specific methods, paperwork and safety concerns.
• Follow job‑specific responsibilities and ensure products are packaged per defined standards; never package questionable products; seek advice from supervisor, quality person, technician, or floor leader.
• Learn and follow all applicable processes associated with Blow Molding production practices.
• Perform any assigned secondary work.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform cleanup work as assigned by supervisor; if the area is unsorted, immediately begin cleaning until reassignments are made.
• Attend all mandatory company meetings and safety education sessions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• High School Education and/or GED preferred.
• Computer knowledge is advised.
• Ability to interpret a variety of gauges and measurement instrumentation.
• Effective oral and written communication in the English language preferred.
• Ability in reading and writing, basic arithmetic, following instructions, using fixed gauges and direct reading of instruments.
• Quality and quantity performance standards under normal supervision should be attained from three to twelve months.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
• Six months of manufacturing experience preferred.

• Continuously lift or move lightweight material (up to 10 pounds).
• Frequently lift or move average weight material (25–60 pounds).
• Occasionally lift or move heavy material (over 60 pounds).
• Operate plastic processing hand tools, cutters, knives, calipers, guards, fixtures and calculators.
