Wieland is hiring a 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the reliability, productivity, and safe operations of the manufacturing facility. Directs the maintenance workforce and ensures coordination with operations. Manages projects as necessary to maintain the facility and/or improve reliability. This role is located in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities:

    Accomplishes maintenance objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and adhering to policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates all plant department needs with the Department Supervisor daily. Works with the Engineers for short-term projects such as upgrades or modifications to resolve existing problem areas; and works with Plant Engineering for longer termed projects such as capacity expansions and technological upgrades to evaluate alternatives to improving production capabilities and/or equipment availability.
  • Plans and directs preventative maintenance CMM programs for all plant departments and equipment. Recommends standard operating practices (SOPs) and programs for improving all plant operations to the Department Supervisors, Operation Managers, Process Technology Managers, and Continuous Improvement Director.
  • Ensures that Predictive and Preventive Maintenance (PMs) activities are scheduled, completed, and documented;
    Coordinates activities to improve parts control and inventory accuracy.
  • Plans scheduled downtime with periods to maximize repairs with a minimum disruption to production. Examines and troubleshoots equipment and process problems, determines the cause, and implements corrective action.
    6. Conducts safety inspections and investigations. Ensures that facility and equipment meet EPA, OSHA, and Wieland Chase standards. Takes corrective action, when necessary to bring items into compliance. Ensures that safety practices are properly communicated and utilized to and by employees.
  • All other duties assigned.

Maintenance Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5+ years maintenance experience, preferred.
  • Candidate must be proficient in basic computer and electronic communications skills.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and their application in automated industrial equipment and systems.
  • Prior experience with SAP, Maximo, or equivalent CMM, preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to efficiently organize and plan work and be able to communicate across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and make timely decisions during critical situations prioritizing the safety and health of all employees.
