Position Summary

The Sr. Program Manager - Operations Strategy, GSA plays a critical role in shaping and communicating Vertiv’s global manufacturing strategy. This role leads capacity planning initiatives, drives manufacturing footprint analysis, and ensures consistent communication to customers and executive leaders. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and skilled at translating complex operational data into customer-focused value propositions.

Key Responsibilities Project Management
  • Lead global coordination of capacity communication to key customers, including current, available, and future-state capacity plans.
  • Develop consistent messaging and materials for customer presentations and executive updates.
  • Drive structured alignment across regions and functions to ensure clarity and consistency in manufacturing strategy.
Global Footprint Strategy
  • Clearly communicate long-term manufacturing footprint strategies to customers, highlighting how Vertiv’s global network supports their growth, resiliency, and service needs.
  • Translate complex plant location and capacity considerations—cost, geopolitical risk, technology enablement, supply chain resiliency, customer proximity—into clear and compelling value propositions.
  • Present make-vs-buy and vertical integration strategies in a customer-focused narrative that demonstrates how strategic decisions enhance reliability, innovation, and responsiveness.
Capacity Planning & Optimization
  • Conduct detailed capacity modeling, scenario planning, and throughput analysis across multiple product lines, in alignment with Regional AME teams.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize plant loading, equipment utilization, staffing models, and capital deployment.
  • Partner with regional and plant leaders to align capacity plans with growth forecasts, demand variability, and strategic priorities.
Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and AME to align on manufacturing strategy and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with global teams to standardize best practices, tools, and methodologies related to footprint and capacity planning.
  • Support product transfers, factory ramp-ups, and global operational transitions with minimal disruption to customers.
Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Use manufacturing and business intelligence tools (MES, ERP, capacity modeling platforms) to inform strategic decisions.
  • Build and maintain models for manufacturing costs, utilization, throughput, and capacity scenarios.
  • Synthesize data into insights for leadership to support long-term investment and footprint decisions.
Process Standardization & Scalability
  • Support scalable manufacturing processes, modular BoP (Bill of Process) strategies, and digital factory principles.
  • Integrate design-for-manufacturability and capacity readiness into early stages of new product development.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement and standardization across manufacturing sites.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/Technology, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.
Requirements
  • Strong project management experience, with proven ability to lead complex, multi-regional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in leading or supporting global manufacturing transformation programs.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including financial modeling and use of simulation or capacity-planning tools (e.g., Simio or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of global supply chain dynamics, geopolitical risk, total landed cost analysis, and manufacturing economics.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing tools (MES, digital twins, capacity software) preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working across multiple industries or diverse product lines.
  • Lean Six Sigma, operational excellence, or continuous improvement background strongly preferred.
