- Schedule:
12:00 PM to 9:00 PM - The Material Handler is responsible for loading Dried Distillers Grains, Bioethanol, POET Distillers Corn Oil, POET Wet Distillers, Distillers Syrup, or Biomass into trucks and rail cars. Uses mechanical equipment, meters, scales, computers, and software to ensure timely delivery and product safety.
- Assist with unloading grain products or biomass and supply trucks.
- Complete grading of grain products or biomass as trained.
- Operate large machinery; may require DOT certification.
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety procedures, including confined space entry and HAZMAT paperwork.
- Learn and maintain all processes associated with grains operation, including repair and maintenance.
- Perform preventative maintenance and assist with facility operations.
- Work outdoors, on weekends, and holidays as required; meet call-in and extended work hour requirements.
- Assist with running the bioprocessing facility scale house and learn software applications.
- Maintain confidentiality, foster safety and environmental compliance, and promote team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Material Handler I:
No experience required;
Material Handler II: previous experience or successful performance as Material Handler I. - Experience with heavy machinery, truck loading/unloading, DOT certification preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication skills, and ability to adapt to change.
- Understanding of bioprocessing operations; basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Self-directed role requiring adherence to safety policies.
- Work in varied environments: plant, laboratory, office, with exposure to noise, mechanical parts, dust, weather, and chemicals.
- Physical requirements:
lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing, bending, standing, working at heights, and PPE use. - Subject to drug screening and safety protocols.
