Aboutthe Role
Packaging Technician:
The front line to ensure that all products are packaged accurately and compliant, ensuring patient satisfaction and proper brand representation. We seek quality candidates who value teamwork, accountability, and the mission. The position is entry level, seeking driven detail‑oriented people with selfless motivation. A candidate must demonstrate strong mental stamina and attention to detail to succeed and grow in this role.
you’ll make a difference (required duties and responsibilities)
- Execute and monitor all tasks in packaging areas, including packaging flower, edibles, and concentrates with precise weights and piece counts, while maintaining rate.
- Regularly examine machine operation and learn to run and troubleshoot machinery.
- Train new team members on the job.
- Maintain the equipment in good condition.
- Clean machines, set up scales (minor mechanical).
- Report when small equipment needs to be replaced.
- Provide the packaging manager with performance analysis and log downtime.
- Complete cGMP training, Health & Safety, gowning for packaging, SOP training, and documentation training.
- Learn to operate basic labeling and packaging machines safely.
- Follow SOPs and training to check components for QA/QC to ensure best practices and applicable regulations.
- Understand the purpose of line checks during packing orders and during cleaning.
- Check labels and packages for print accuracy (lot number and expiry date) and for damaged labels or packages.
- Understand and stay current with all SOPs to ensure cGMP compliance and review SOPs as needed.
- Continuously look for actions to prevent defects and engage in quality training.
- Report corrections and discrepancies to management to ensure accuracy of inventory counts, labeling, and related information.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Six (6) months of packaging, pharmaceutical, or biotech experience
- Strong problem solving and mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in accordance with SOPs and training
- Basic computer skills and the ability to enter and maintain accurate data in a timely manner
