Position Summary
The I.T. Coordinator oversees STAR’s I.T. department while reporting directly to the Facilities Director.
General Responsibilities- Know and adhere to STAR’s policies and procedures
- Coordinate with all other departments as needed
- Maintain relationships with vendors, inspectors, and outside entities
- Ensure compliance with all requirements associated with essential services, such as fire monitoring system, Key Control, and FCC license
- Ensure the department remains in continuous compliance with all ACA, PREA, and departmental CBCF and BCS standards
- Provide oversight for all facility copiers, printers, laptops, electronic security, telephones, alarms, and radio communication devices
- Issue new employees computer and key access information
- Turn off computer and key access for former employees
- Ensure the server room and other I.T. areas are adequately supplied and organized
- Conduct periodic walkthroughs of the facility to ensure compliance and cleanliness of managed areas. This includes UPS systems, cameras, and equipment
- Ensure facility I.T. goals are being accomplished
- Provide guidance and corrective actions to STAR residents as needed
- Ensure that all electronic systems are functioning and protected from outside entities
Staff holding this position will be evaluated on the following intervals of employment: 90th day, 1 year, and annually thereafter. The following domains will be assessed:

- Certification in related fields and/or 4 years of I.T. experience
- A strong background with two years in the field of corrections preferred
- Valid driver’s license
