The Regional Coordination Manager supports the development and implementation of a key global strategy y may take the lead on development and implementation of one or more strategies. They support global strategy leadership by assisting with and/or managing priority projects and serves as a technical resource on the relevant global strategy and/or project(s).They liaise with other TNC staff, notably field colleagues, as well as external actors as applicable, to help drive the implementation of the global strategy and associated projects in the places where TNC works.

They track and/or assess corporate practices, governmental policies and decisions, or the practices or views of other stakeholders concerning the strategy or priority project and their potential impact on organizational conservation goals.

They may advise TNC communications, marketing and philanthropy staff on issues related to the global strategy or priority project(s) and related issues. May involve domestic and international travel of 25% or more.

The Equitable Conservation (EC) team sits within The Nature Conservancy’s Chief Conservation Office (CCO) and advances the organization’s commitment to respecting Indigenous self‑determination; upholding human rights, gender equity, and social safeguards; and creating equitable pathways for communities to thrive alongside healthy ecosystems.

Within EC, the Movements, Frameworks, and Outcomes (MFO) sub‑team strengthens the connective tissue across people, strategies, and regions through network weaving, learning exchange, coordination across teams and strategies, creation of tools and resources, and support for evidence‑informed and adaptive ways of working.

The Regional Coordination Manager (RCM) reports to the Equitable Conservation Networks & Movements Director and plays a key role in strengthening coordination across EC’s regional engagements. The position supports alignment, visibility, and follow‑through while remaining grounded in values of equity, reciprocity, and right relationship.

YOUR ROLE

The Regional Coordination Manager oversees and facilitates coordination across Equitable Conservation’s portfolio of regional engagements, ensuring alignment with regional priorities and EC and TNC strategies.

The role serves as Project Lead for the Geography Support Grant (officially the “Voice, Choice, Action – Indigenous and Community Leadership in Conservation” grant; referred to in this document as the “VCA Grant”), supporting effective delivery, coordination, and integration across regions and teams.

This position is designed as a strategic connector, helping people, processes, and work streams connect more clearly and consistently. The RCM focuses on coordination and integration rather than strategy ownership or decision authority, enabling regional teams and EC colleagues to work together more effectively.

SCOPE & COLLABORATION

Primary scope: Coordination of EC regional engagements, in close collaboration with MFO and other EC sub‑teams.
Cross‑team collaboration: Works with internal TNC teams (including regional programs, strategies, and operations partners) to support clear engagement pathways and consistent ways of working.
External engagement: Engages external partners as needed, typically alongside or in support of internal relationship owners and program leads.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Regional engagement coordination
  • Coordinate EC’s portfolio of regional engagements across geographies to support alignment, sequencing, and follow‑through.

  • Maintain shared tracking systems (e.g., workplans, timelines, dependencies) that improve visibility and reduce friction across teams.

  • Support day‑to‑day coordination to ensure commitments are realistic, well‑managed, and responsive to regional context.

2. VCA Grant leadership
  • Coordinate implementation with regional teams and internal partners as Project Lead for the VCA Grant.
