OverviewProject Executive. The Project Executive is pivotal in leading and managing the overall direction of Mid-City Electric’s projects, ensuring on-time, successful delivery within budget. This role requires a strategic leader who can collaborate effectively with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results. The Project Executive will be responsible for multiple projects, driving performance, resolving issues, and mentoring project managers and teams.
Responsibilities- Oversee project execution from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring alignment with company objectives and goals.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Lead, mentor, and guide project management teams to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement.
- Monitor project progress and implement strategies to address potential risks and challenges, including scope changes, delays, and cost overruns.
- Drive a safety culture by ensuring all projects comply with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and expand opportunities for future projects.
- Provide senior leadership with regular and transparent project updates, including financial performance, project status, and key metrics.
- Assist in developing proposals, project bids, and contract negotiations.
- Construction Management, Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent — OR — extensive experience in electrical service work combined with training and demonstrated leadership experience.
- Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, financial, and engineering principles.
- Understanding of the market and ability to secure business opportunities in line with the company’s service offerings.
- Ability to maximize employee performance through innovative and effective management techniques.
- Thorough understanding of industry standards, best practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities.
- Proficiency with project management and estimating software, MS Office Suite, and Google Workspace. Accubid, Spectrum, and P6 experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.). Comfortable presenting to different groups of all sizes.
