We Are

The Safety and Security Department at ODW Logistics is committed to providing a safe, secure, and healthful work environment. Through engagement, process discipline, and collaboration, we drive a culture where all associates feel valued, empowered, and protected.

Position Summary

The Safety Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and continuously improving corporate safety and health programs and objectives across all ODW locations, including multiple nationwide distribution centers and the corporate office. This position also supports the broader compliance initiatives relating to quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Safety SME – promote safety as a cultural business value rather than a business priority, through training, coaching, and communication of ODW safety practices, procedures, expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain safety programs – research, review, update, and deliver safety procedures and policies that ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Haz Comm, risk assessments, audits, training). Assist in developing and delivering safety training/onboarding, promoting a ‘safety first’ culture.
  • Lead proactive safety culture – identify exposures/hazards in fulfillment or transport, recommend preventative measures, and implement engineered or administrative controls with strong communication skills. Support powered industrial truck (PIT) platforms, near‑miss reporting, and behavior‑based safety observations.
  • Provide strong leadership – motivate Safety team members, ODW leadership, and associates, exceeding expectations for facilitating a compliant, safe, and healthful work environment. Lead a high‑functioning safety team, providing feedback and coaching to proactively support a growing network of distribution centers.
  • Promote safety awareness – develop and deliver content through company memoranda, newsletters, trainings, Safety Team meetings, Safety Calls, goal attainment, and individual development.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance – understand, monitor, and proactively manage exposures related to OSHA (federal/state), EPA, NFPA, NIOSH, ESG, and ANSI regulations. Track regulatory changes and communicate adjustments as they occur.
  • Support incident management & workers compensation – maintain incident logs, assist in completing OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301), participate in injury/incident investigations to determine compliant dispositions. Work with Director of Safety & Security to create corrective and preventative actions. Support HR, risk, and operations leadership in implementing said actions.

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree (Preferred) or 2‑4 years of safety leadership experience.
  • Certifications (OSHA-10, OSHA-30, OSHA-511, OSHA-501, STS, ASP, CSP, etc.) considered.
  • Safety management experience in logistics, manufacturing, or a warehouse setting.
  • Warehouse and material handling equipment experience (e.g., forklift, order picker, reach truck).
  • Experience with Raymond iWarehouse and/or Crown Infolink platforms is a plus.
