Custodian

Dassel-Cokato Public Schools is seeking a full-time Custodian to join our Buildings and Grounds team. Under the direction of the Director of Buildings and Grounds and the guidance of the Lead Custodian, this position performs environmental service tasks, cleaning and maintenance of school buildings, minor mechanical repairs, and support services for day and evening school activities. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Working schedule would be 8 hours/day, 12 months/year.

• Provide custodial services for classrooms, offices, cafeterias, hallways, locker rooms, gymnasiums, and other areas of the building
• Sweep, dust, mop, and vacuum floors and carpets, including daily cleaning of entry mats and periodic deep cleaning
• Dust ledges, door tops, shelving, windows, and other surfaces to maintain building cleanliness standards
• Clean and disinfect spills and stains as needed and maintain sanitary conditions throughout the building
• Clean glass in doors and interior windows; maintain general appearance of common areas
• Provide daily cleaning and sanitation of restrooms, including sinks, countertops, mirrors, fixtures, toilets, urinals, partitions, and floors
• Refill restroom supplies such as paper goods and soap dispensers and replace other custodial supplies as needed
• Assist with set up, tear down, and general support for school activities, programs, and community events
• Turn on lights, unlock and secure doors, and assist in maintaining building safety and security as directed
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and other related duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds or Lead Custodian

• Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, standing, and working in various weather conditions when necessary.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment safely and effectively.
