Overview
Compressor Operator/Facility Operator
The Compressor Station Operator is a multi-skilled position that is responsible for the operation and maintenance of gathering system compressor stations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to daily documentation of equipment, housekeeping, maximizing throughput, minor maintenance on engines, compressors, separators, generators, flares, dehy’s, VRU’s and coolers, and locating pipelines around the compressor station. It also involves coordinating with craft personnel to resolve equipment/system problems, operating stations that may include Caterpillar & Waukesha engines driving Aerial compressors, troubleshooting abnormal operations, coordinating contractor activities, identifying emergency situations and initiating emergency response procedures, completing and maintaining required reports and logs, and monitoring and adjusting equipment to maintain optimum availability and efficiency.
The following expectations will be used: provide initial and ongoing training, report progress for evaluations, evaluate work-related conduct, and provide a 90-day evaluation for employees.

- Operate natural gas compressor stations and associated midstream equipment efficiently and safely
- Read and record production metrics (gas, condensate, production water/brine) and report operational temperature and pressure parameters
- Inspect, maintain and repair basic equipment as needed (pipelines, compression and measurement facilities) and ensure compliance with emissions guidelines
- Respond to emergencies and support corrosion control and housekeeping practices
- Maintain required forms, records and logs (daily logs, shift reports, regulatory activities)
- Perform all essential duties and demonstrate customer service skills
- Read, write and speak English (work orders, manuals, etc.)
- Model health, safety and environmental procedures
- Use computer skills including vendor-specific programs (Cat, Waukesha, Ariel, Murphy) and MS Office
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely
- Respond to after-hours on-call requests
- Work 12-16 hours straight with rest during time off
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Gas or Diesel Mechanics preferred
- Entry level starting at $20/hr
