Location: Patterson
As a Program Security Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating threats to AFRL systems and networks. You will work with a team of security professionals to develop and implement strategies to protect against cyberattacks and other security threats. You will also be responsible for staying up to date with the latest security trends and technologies and for conducting ongoing assessments of the DoD's security posture.
- Process and maintain Data Loss Prevention external media waivers for NIPR and SIPR networks and assist non-waivered SIPR users with downloading data to external media
- Request the provisioning of SIPR user accounts and assist those users with re‑enabling and re‑provisioning issues
- Gather artifacts from the Program Managers of various divisions and branches within the Aerospace Systems Directorate to process Risk Management Framework packages for IATTs and ATOs
- Perform investigations and compile reports of Trellix malware incidents occurring on the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN) in accordance with the basic steps of incident response (containment, eradication, recovery, post‑incident activity)
- Perform investigations and compile reports of Classified Message Incidents in accordance with the basic steps of incident response (containment, eradication, recovery, post‑incident activity)
- Reconcile Keyboard-Video-Mouse (KVM) switch user agreements with the 88th Wing Cybersecurity Office's records
- Familiarity with Windows Active Directory
- Familiarity with NIST Risk Management Framework
- Familiarity with trouble ticket applications (BMC Remedy, Solar Winds)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts
- Basic understanding of security controls
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related field
- Proficient with risk management frameworks and security architecture
Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems - Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems)
- Active Secret clearance (or above) required
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
