About the Role
Are you passionate about building high-performance data infrastructure for mission-critical systems? We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the development of the database layer that powers a global application and over 70 essential services. You'll play a key role in implementing cutting-edge technologies like Postgres and Spark for a U.S.
-based fintech company, contributing directly to business-critical initiatives.
- You have 9+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong data expertise.
- You thrive in distributed systems and have deep knowledge of relational databases.
- You enjoy leading teams and setting technical direction for high-impact projects.
- You’re confident working in regulated industries such as fintech or banking.
- You communicate clearly and effectively in English across cross-functional teams.
- Design and implement robust, scalable database solutions using Postgres and Spark.
- Lead the delivery of the POA (Point of Arrival) database platform across multiple services.
- Drive performance optimization, capacity planning, and data migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, design, and security teams to align data solutions with business goals.
- Ensure high availability, data integrity, and security within distributed systems.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor fellow engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- Proactivity and leadership in technical execution.
- Attention to detail, especially in data quality and security.
- A collaborative spirit and strong communication across teams.
- Must-Haves:
- 9+ years in software development.
- 4+ years with Java and 3+ years with Apache Spark.
- 5+ years working with relational databases (Postgres or similar).
- Experience with SQL optimization, partitioning, lock management, and data migrations.
- Solid knowledge of distributed systems and microservices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with gRPC, Vertex, and cloud-based environments.
- Fin Tech or banking industry experience.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and data infrastructure best practices.
- Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical initiatives.
