The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg has a vacancy in the Institute for Computer Science for a
University Professorship (W2)
for Applied IT-Security
to be filled as soon as possible. The position will be filled as a civil servant for life.
The applicant must represent the field of Applied IT-Security in research and teaching. Outstanding achievements in research and teaching are expected in at least one, preferably several, of the following areas:
- Development of secure software systems and security management
- Data security and privacy-compliant software systems
- Security analysis, verification, and evaluation of security solutions in terms of their reliability, performance, and energy efficiency
- Security in networked, mobile, and distributed systems
- Privacy-preserving methods for cloud computing and data science
- Secure use and training of AI models
- Forensic computing
- System security
Experience in acquiring third-party funding and in interdisciplinary research cooperation is expected.
The teaching duties include courses offered for the bachelor's, master's, and teacher training programs conducted at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Würzburg.
