Position summary
:
Under general supervision, provides direct business support for enterprise applications. Assists in the analysis, design, integration, adaptation, and testing of new and existing systems applications to support organizational business objectives. Applies business and technical best practices to support and improve current business processes. Troubleshoots applications across different programming languages and platforms. Documents business processes, workflows, and their relationships to current and future software solutions.
Partners with business organizations to surface, document, and present their requirements through stakeholder interviews. Assists in optimizing project scope, benefits, and risks, and helps manage user and management expectations. Defines use cases to articulate new functional software needs and user roles. Analyzes impact of change requests. Supports traceability from requirements through QA, assisting in test plan/strategy creation and test case development.
Assists in rollout, training, and user support planning. Creates or reviews manuals, procedures, and user documentation, ensuring audience-targeted content. Presents concepts concisely using narrative, process diagrams, role and accountability diagrams, and business-focused storyboards. Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to work safely in accordance with approved safety policies and procedures. Actively participates in Safety Work Groups.
- Understand and document business processes, workflows and their relationships to current and future software solutions.
- Partner with business organizations to surface, document, and present requirements; conduct interviews with key project stakeholders.
- Assist business users, project managers and IT leadership in optimizing project scope, benefits and risks; manage expectations of users and management.
- Define use cases to articulate new functional software needs and the roles of each class of application user.
- Analyze the impact of change requests and support traceability from requirements through to QA.
- Assist in the definition of test plans, testing strategies and the creation of test cases.
- Assist in the definition of rollout, training and user support plans.
- Create or review manuals, procedures, and related user documentation for appropriate audiences.
- Present concepts in a concise and focused manner using narrative, process diagrams, and business-focused visuals.
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with safety policies; actively participates in Safety Work Groups.
Work in an office environment with potential exposure to outdated or hazardous facilities or industrial sites as part of business activities. May be required to travel to off-project sites. Ability to perform sedentary to light work with lifting up to 50 pounds with two-person assist as needed. Primary office duties include extensive computer use. In some cases, radiological training may be required.
