Manager, R&D Software Quality managing test automation teams working on products based on micro service based architecture

* Lead and manage a team of software quality engineers, including automation engineers and manual testers, supporting Agile software development initiatives
* Plan, prioritize, and oversee quality engineering activities to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget
* Provide people leadership including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development
* Define, communicate, and execute test strategies across projects, ensuring alignment with business, regulatory, and quality requirements
* Oversee test planning, execution, reporting, and traceability across system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing
* Establish and continuously improve quality processes, standards, and testing methodologies, including automation and continuous integration practices
* Evaluate, select, and implement testing tools, frameworks, and techniques aligned with organizational standards
* Ensure integrity and completeness of testing and acceptance activities, including coordination of security and system testing
* Partner with software development, product management, and project management teams to evaluate deliverables against acceptance criteria
* Identify quality risks, audit findings, and process gaps, and drive corrective and preventive actions
* Provide expert guidance on quality management practices, testing standards, and regulatory expectations
* Maintain and update organizational quality standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives## What We Look For
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in software quality engineering, including at least 3 years in a people management role
* Proven experience leading and mentoring teams of manual and automation test engineers
* Strong expertise in manual and automated testing tools, frameworks, and architectures
* Experience working in Agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe
* Solid background in Dev Ops practices and cloud-based software solutions
* Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and testing techniques (functional, integration, system, regression)
* Hands-on knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Ruby, as well as SQL
* Experience testing web APIs and/or mobile applications
* Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools; experience with Polarion is an advantage
* Knowledge of FDA regulations, including 21 CFR Part 11 and cGxP, is a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Based in or able to work from Estenfield, Germany (hybrid work arrangement)
