AWS Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect to design and lead the cloud infrastructure for a Customer Data Platform (CDP). This role is critical in shaping a scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS architecture that supports large‑scale data ingestion, processing, and analytics.

You will work closely with data engineers, Dev Ops teams, and stakeholders to define and deliver a robust AWS‑based data platform aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

• Design and architect the end‑to‑end AWS infrastructure for the Customer Data Platform (CDP)
• Define high‑level and detailed architecture covering:
• Networking: VPCs, subnets, routing, security boundaries
• Compute: EC2, Lambda, EMR
• Storage: S3, EBS, RDS, Redshift
• Data Services:
  Glue, EMR, Redshift
• Ensure the architecture meets scalability, availability, security, and cost optimisation goals
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Cloud Formation
• Oversee AWS service implementation supporting data ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Define and enforce AWS security best practices, including IAM, security groups, encryption, and compliance controls
• Monitor and continuously optimise infrastructure performance, resilience, and cost
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and deployment procedures
• Ensure compliance with data privacy, protection regulations, and industry standards

• Strong hands‑on experience as an AWS Architect designing production‑grade cloud platforms
• Deep knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, EMR, Redshift, Glue, Lambda
• Solid understanding of data engineering and data warehousing concepts
• Proven experience designing scalable, fault‑tolerant, and secure architectures
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or Cloud Formation)
• Strong understanding of AWS security, IAM, networking, and governance
• Experience working in data‑heavy or analytics‑driven platforms (CDP, DWH, Data Lake, Analytics)

• Experience with cost optimisation strategies (Fin Ops)
• Exposure to compliance‑heavy environments (financial services, regulated industries)
• AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional)
