Software Evaluation Engineer

An opportunity to support software test and integration efforts in lab environments for next-generation combat systems at MTSI.

• Plan and execute software evaluations in lab settings to assess mission systems performance, reliability, and stability.
• Develop test procedures, data collection strategies, and evaluation criteria tailored to lab‑based configurations.
• Coordinate with software developers, systems integrators, and test leads to troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies.
• Support integration of new software builds into lab environments and verify functionality across interface components.
• Document test results, anomalies, and findings in formal reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure software testing aligns with program requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), and mission needs.
• Participate in technical reviews, integration readiness events, and lab architecture planning sessions.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in mission systems software test, evaluation, or integration roles.
• Proficiency in test planning, data analysis, and lab‑based validation of software components.
• Experience working with DoD systems and structured test environments.
• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, and test automation frameworks.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.

Desired

• Experience supporting Air Force lab‑based testing or platform‑specific mission systems (e.g., sensors, comms, avionics).
• Familiarity with Agile software development and Dev Sec Ops  pipelines.
• Working knowledge of MBSE concepts and digital thread integration.
• Strong documentation skills and experience contributing to test readiness and formal evaluation events.
