The Integration Testing Specialist I is responsible for ensuring the proper integration of various software components and systems. This role involves performing testing to validate the functionality, compatibility, and performance of integrated systems. The individual will work closely with the development team, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify integration points, create test plans, and troubleshoot issues to support the delivery of high-quality integrated solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:To succeed in this role, the individual must meet the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Assist in developing and executing test plans and test cases to validate the integration of software components and systems.
- Perform manual testing and support automation of test scripts to assess integrated systems’ functionality, compatibility, and performance.
- Identify integration points, dependencies, and data flow between systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand integration requirements and support the creation of testing strategies.
- Conduct regression testing to verify that integration changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
- Troubleshoot and document issues reported during integration testing, collaborating with the development team to resolve them.
- Monitor integration processes to help identify areas for optimization.
- Stay informed on best practices, tools, and technologies related to integration testing.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions to support the overall quality of the software.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing status updates and reporting issues.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required to contribute to the efficient flow of work within Midwest Tape.
- Basic understanding of software integration concepts, protocols, and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail for thorough testing and accurate defect reporting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while achieving team goals.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and oral, for interaction with team members and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Education Requirements:
- Associate degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in testing, with a focus on integration.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Pytest, Jest or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with Kafka, AWS SQS, Active
MQ (AMQ), or similar messaging/queue systems. - Familiarity with RESTful API’s and Graph
QL for testing and validation. - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
- Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Blazemeter) is a plus.
- Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Sitting for extended periods.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices.
- Ability to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
