Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for day-to-day execution of core HR functions in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on employee administration, onboarding, recordkeeping, benefits coordination, training support, and policy execution, while coordinating with executive leadership, external PEO firm, and outside legal counsel for advanced HR, compliance, and legal matters. HRIS Administrator.
This position is non-managerial, and does not supervise employees, and does not set HR strategy. The role executes established policies and escalates complex issues appropriately.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee Administration & Support- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR processes, policies, and routine questions
- Maintain employee personnel files, records, and documentation (electronic and paper)
- Administer onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, orientation, coordination, and exit documentation
- Track employee status changes, job titles, pay changes, and leave status in HRIS
- Ensure employee performance reviews are conducted per Auto Gate policy and practice
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.
- Assist payroll processing by ensuring accurate data entry, timekeeping records, and status updates in HRIS
- Maintain accurate leave tracking
- Post job openings and coordinate candidate flow for hourly and salaried roles
- Schedule interviews and assist managers with candidate logistics
- Coordinate pre-employment screenings (background checks, drug screens)
- Prepare and distribute offer letters using approved templates
- Coordinate new-hire safety orientation and required training
- Track training completion and certifications
- Assist Operations and Safety leadership with documentation related to OSHA, safety programs, and compliance training (execution only)
- Execute and administer company policies as written
- Assist with documentation related to corrective actions, performance reviews, and employee relations matters
- Escalate complex employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, or legal issues to the General Manager, the BoD, PEO, and outside legal counsel
- Maintain HRIS accuracy and data integrity
- Assist in maintaining job descriptions, employee handbook updates, and HR forms
- Generate standard HR reports as requested by leadership
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or another related field; and one (1) to two (2) years of human resource experience;
High School Diploma or GED with 5 to 7 years of experience in the HR field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Above average analytical, leadership, problem-solving, and reasoning abilities. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office or other related software; proficiency with Paycom or other Human Resource Information System, or the ability to quickly learn this and other organization software programs.

- Utilize the most effective form of communication with employees, managers, co-workers, clients and vendors
- Understand that daily tasks through long-term company vision are interwoven in the Auto Gate EOS. Prioritize and re-prioritize tasks in a dynamic fluid environment
- Display a willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgement, support and explain the reason and measure in your decision-making process
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines
