Location: Germany

As an Experienced Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the payroll operations for all employees across Norway. You will manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing while adhering to Norwegian labor laws and tax regulations. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related queries and support the HR team in improving payroll efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer end-to-end payroll processing for employees in Norway, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Norwegian legislation.
  • Calculate, process, and verify wages, bonuses, overtime, vacation pay, sick leave, and other compensation elements.
  • Ensure the correct application of tax codes, deductions, and statutory contributions, including pension, social security, and unemployment insurance.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports, including but not limited to tax returns, pension contributions, and annual summaries.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in the payroll system.
  • Resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with the HR team on new hires, terminations, and other employee changes to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in Norwegian payroll laws, tax regulations, and collective bargaining agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in payroll audits and internal controls as necessary.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of annual income statements (A-melding) for all employees.
  • Participate in ad-hoc payroll projects and process improvements.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in payroll administration within Norway, including comprehensive knowledge of Norwegian tax and labor laws.
  • Strong understanding of Norwegian payroll systems, software, and tools (experience with Visma, Tripletex, or similar systems preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to analyze and work with payroll data.
  • Solid knowledge of pensions, benefits, and social security systems in Norway.
  • Best:
    Fluency in Norwegian (both written and spoken); proficiency in English is a plus. Or English only.
  • Very good communication skills and the ability to collaborate in international teams.
