Position SummaryThe HR Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the human resource department. The role may involve recruitment, payroll administration and other HR areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides support for recruiting (e.g., schedules interviews, sends background checks, attends job fairs/recruitment events, conducts drug tests and contacts selected candidates).
- Coordinates new hire orientation (scheduling orientation, preparing paperwork, creating employee files) including I-9 completion/compliance.
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with legal requirements.
- Provides support on auditing, reviewing and processing paperwork and forms.
- Participates in special projects and initiatives, including engagement, job fairs and HR assessments.
- Maintains confidentiality and performs duties per company policies and procedures.
- Supports company Open Enrollment period to ensure smooth processing.
- Supports payroll processing.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of Human Resources/payroll/clerical experience preferred.
- Must work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months ranging from mild to moderate.
- Microsoft Office.

- Intermediate.
- Results-oriented.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Attention to detail and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

- Flexible with shifting priorities and business needs; works a flexible schedule.
