Emergency Medical Technician

Reporting directly to the Risk & Safety Supervisor, the EMT responds as necessary to all medical emergencies and requests for aid. Minimizes risk to persons and property while protecting company assets.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow team members.
• May be responsible for attendance at all training workouts and live races to provide any necessary medical assistance.
• Renders medical assistance as needed or requested.
• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external guests
• Maintains inventory of medical equipment.
• Safeguards company assets, including team members and guests.
• Interviews, investigates and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.
• Prepares detailed reports as required.
• Controls and monitors to minimize risk and ensure a safe environment for guests and team members.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
• Provides first aid, including CPR when necessary.
• Clean the equipment. Check and replace the used and damaged supplies.
• May assist as first responder to all medical emergencies for jockey injuries and illnesses.
• Any and all other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• 21 years old at time of employment
• Valid driver’s license
• HEP-B series immunizations
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Must possess excellent customer and employee relations skills.
• Professional appearance
• Team player

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Other certifications as needed

Required Certification/License

• Must be able to obtain an Ohio Lottery Commission gaming license
• Maintain current EMS certification

High School or better.
