NOW HIRING!! A-Line is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Technician to support the organization, accuracy, and integrity of health information records. This role is essential in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring complete and accurate documentation of patient medical records.

Job Title: Health Information Technician
Location: Orient, OH
Pay: $17/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 AM–3 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and review health information, including verifying completeness of medical reports and ensuring required signatures are present.
  • Organize medical documentation for proper filing and record placement.
  • Prepare and type health information forms such as new admission charts, requests for reports, and other related documents.
  • Compile and type statistical reports including daily/monthly census, admissions, discharges, Medicaid days, and length of stay.
  • File reports into health records, maintain logs, and retrieve records within the filing system as needed.
  • Provide health information to authorized requestors after confirming appropriateness and confidentiality compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding health information record procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of health information technology practices.
  • Knowledge of JCAH and Medicare/Medicaid regulations related to medical record management.
  • Strong familiarity with confidentiality requirements and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency using a typewriter and/or word processing tools, as well as a calculator.
  • Ability to identify missing documentation, proofread medical reports, and accurately classify and collate information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
