About the Role/The TeamThis role presents an opportunity to contribute to a team at the forefront of ratings innovation. Financial markets are constantly evolving, and S&P is creating a team to ensure we can provide our credit opinions in a timely fashion on new and innovative structures and risks. The primary focus area is Structured Finance. The team will be responsible for market engagement and education, executing new rating engagements and publishing research.
Responsibilitiesand Impact
- Analyze credit quality, review performance data, credit models, underwriting criteria, and macroeconomic and sector factors on structured finance transactions.
- Serve as a primary analyst on new issue and surveillance transactions, completing the end-to-end ratings process. Perform cash flow analysis and synthesize results in a timely manner for rating committees.
- Review legal and operating documents to ensure compliance with criteria and identify issues with the transaction structure. Provide feedback to external parties.
- Actively manage relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors. Effectively communicate S&P’s methodologies and procedures. Participate in client meetings.
- Prepare written and oral presentations to rating committees. Make recommendations to committees and actively participate in committee deliberations.
- Draft thorough yet concise press releases and presale reports.
- Collaborate with internal parties (editorial, data, etc.) to manage the publication of ratings and reports to external audiences.
- Work on special projects as directed by the analytical team manager.
US Candidates
: S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is $110,000 to $145,000. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
Canadian Candidates
: S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

- An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have minimum of 2+ years’ experience in structured finance and credit analysis experience
- Strong proficiency with Excel, financial models, and financial data.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and their relationship to S&P products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to analyze and solve non-routine problems in a timely and insightful manner.
- Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressure.
- Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
