Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Wauseon, Ohio. This role is essential in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and implementing effective controls. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting and finance within a manufacturing environment and demonstrate a commitment to driving efficiency and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the daily operations of the accounting team, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets.

- Prepare and maintain accurate profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports, providing detailed variance analysis to highlight performance drivers.

- Ensure timely completion and distribution of internal and external financial reports, including monthly statements and annual audit documentation.

- Oversee company-wide general ledgers and consolidated financial statement reporting, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards.

- Analyze and interpret accounting transactions and records to prepare comprehensive financial statements.

- Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and analysis.

- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring all entries are recorded within established deadlines.

- Drive process improvements within accounting operations, enhancing financial systems and streamlining close procedures.

- Develop and enforce robust internal controls and operational processes to align with corporate guidelines and ensure efficiency.

- Document key business processes and accounting policies to support knowledge sharing, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements - Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or controllership roles, preferably within manufacturing environments.

- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong financial management controls, including cost accounting practices.

- Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives within accounting operations.

- Proficiency in general ledger management and month-end close procedures.

- Experience with financial software systems such as JobBOSS.

- Solid understanding of cost accounting and job costing principles.

- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with senior leadership.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
