Location: Pioneer
The Naval Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of ships and marine structures, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves applying principles of engineering, hydrodynamics, and materials science to develop innovative and efficient designs.
Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze design specifications and requirements to create feasible and efficient ship designs.
Conduct hydrodynamic analyses to optimize the vessel’s performance in various sea conditions.
Ensure designs comply with international and national maritime regulations and standards.
Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, and manage any changes or issues that arise.
Conduct site inspections and supervise testing to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
Utilize simulation tools to predict vessel behavior and performance.
Assess and incorporate feedback from testing and operational experiences to refine designs.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and certifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, naval architects, and project managers.
Prepare and present reports, proposals, and design reviews to clients and stakeholders.
Propose and implement improvements in design processes, materials, and construction methods.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional licensure or certification as a Naval Architect is preferred.
- Proven experience in ship design, marine engineering, or a related field, typically 3-5 years.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, Ship Constructor) and engineering simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- This role may require travel to project sites.
- May involve working in various environments including office settings, workshops, and on‑site locations.
