Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Systems Engineering group. This role will be pivotal in specifying requirements for multi-orbit satellite connectivity systems and overseeing the integration of software and hardware components. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to optimize advanced communication technologies such as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth in aircraft environments, ensuring seamless operation and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Engineering Leadership:

  • Define and lead the requirements specification for multi-orbit satellite connectivity systems.
  • Oversee the integration of complex software and hardware components, including aircraft wireless access points and satellite connectivity terminals.

Optimization of Onboard Communication Systems:

  • Optimize the utilization of Wi-Fi 6E on aircraft by collaborating with key stakeholders, considering OEM requirements, regional regulations, and software optimization strategies.
  • Lead the engineering of Bluetooth systems, focusing on requirements management, validation and verification (V&V), certification, and system capacity.
  • Develop and implement robust test plans covering power management, media management, RF interference, and ensure seamless Bluetooth operation alongside Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

Subsystem Management:

  • Manage the development and integration of aircraft connectivity subsystems and software design.
  • Ensure comprehensive specifications and requirements are traceable and aligned with validation plans.

Interface Management:

  • Manage Interface Control Documents (ICDs) to ensure seamless interaction between avionics, communication subsystems, and software applications.

Requirements Management:

  • Utilize Jama to manage requirements, create test plans, define acceptance criteria, and ensure compliance with certification standards set by aircraft manufacturers.

Collaboration and Compliance:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and subsystem delivery managers to integrate software and hardware components.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar (MBA / PhD)

Professional Experience:

  • Extensive experience in systems engineering, particularly in satellite connectivity and avionics systems.
  • Proven track record in leading technical projects and managing complex engineering systems.
  • Technical leadership in satellite systems engineering, including DSP control architecture.
  • Proficiency in using tools like Jama, DOORS, Confluence, and Jira for project management and requirements handling.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in satellite connectivity and aircraft wireless communication technologies.
  • Strong background in requirements management, validation and verification (V&V), and certification processes.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming (e.g., Python), blockchain development, and API development.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
