Senior Design Engineer

Hybrid or Open to Remote

We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer with strong experience in electrical or mechanical design-especially in renewable energy systems-to join our growing engineering team. You'll play a key role in designing commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems and supporting projects from concept to completion.

• Lead and review engineering deliverables-drawings, schematics, energy models, calculations, and schedules-for PV systems (500 kW to 20 MW).

• Support projects through every phase: development, design, construction, and post-build documentation.

• Conduct site assessments and contribute to conceptual designs and modeling for new opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and partners to ensure smooth project execution.

• Ensure designs meet safety standards (OSHA), local codes (NEC), and company best practices.

• Help integrate new tools, technologies, products, and design processes.

• Support business development by identifying design risks and optimizing project outcomes.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

• 7+ years of relevant experience (includes commercial, industrial and/or utility scale PV system design).

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, PV modeling software, and energy design tools.

• Strong understanding of NEC and other applicable codes.

• FE certification required; PE license and NABCEP certification preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills-you're comfortable translating technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
