Hybrid​/Site DCS Control Systems Engineer

Location: Germany (site-based / hybrid depending on project)

We’re supporting a leading industrial and process-focused organization in Germany that’s expanding its Distributed Control Systems (DCS) capability across large-scale production and critical infrastructure projects.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the design, configuration, commissioning, and optimisation of DCS platforms, supporting process control, plant reliability, and operational performance across complex industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering, configuration, and commissioning of DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson Delta
  
  V, Siemens PCS 7, Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa Centum)
• Development and modification of control logic, function blocks, and sequences
• HMI / operator interface configuration, alarms, trends, and graphics
• FAT / SAT execution, commissioning, troubleshooting, and live-site support
• Integration with PLC, SCADA, SIS, and field instrumentation
• Support process optimisation, control strategy improvements, and system upgrades
• Produce technical documentation, I/O lists, cause & effect, and control narratives
• Work closely with process, electrical, and maintenance teams onsite

Required Experience

• Strong background in DCS engineering within industrial or process environments
• Hands-on experience with at least one major DCS platform
• Understanding of process control, P&IDs, instrumentation, and control loops
• Experience with commissioning, plant start-ups, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, OPC)
• Comfortable working in plant / site-based environments

Nice to Have

• Experience in chemicals, pharma, energy, manufacturing, or oil & gas
• Safety system or SIS / SIL exposure
• German language skills (beneficial but not always required)
