The API Inspector will perform inspections on pressure vessel, piping, and/or above ground storage tank equipment for the purpose of certifying compliance and/or recommending and approving repairs in accordance with one or more of the following API standards:

• API 510
• API 570

• Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the refinery.
• Perform visual inspection of completed work and recommend and approve repairs.
• Assist in the scheduling of activities related to inspection.
• Use proper safety procedures and equipment.
• Properly use and complete customer and company job related forms and paperwork.
• Abide by Company policies and procedures.
• Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.
• Perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
• Prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
• Deliver reports to clients.
• Work outdoors in a plant atmosphere.
• Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
• Wear required safety equipment.
• May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

• Possess the related API certification (510 and 570) with at least one year of related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent, technical school or college credits preferred.
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel and able to write detailed inspection reports.
• Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Capable of climbing, working at high elevations and working in confined spaces.
• Must be able to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including the ability to gain access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, permitting effective communication.
• Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, permitting investigation.
• Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, permitting routine office duties.

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
