Raymond, Ohio Job Summary
The ADAS Components & Sensors Design Engineer is responsible for the design, integration, validation, and lifecycle management of advanced sensing hardware used in modern automotive driver‑assistance systems. This role focuses on components such as cameras, radars, lidars, ultrasonic sensors, driver monitoring systems (DMS), and perception-related ECUs. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems engineering, electrical engineering, software, validation, manufacturing, and suppliers to deliver robust ADAS solutions that meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design and development of ADAS sensors (camera, radar, lidar, ultrasonic, IR, DMS, etc.).
- Create 2D/3D designs, packaging studies, and integration layouts using Catia V5/V6. Catia V6 is Preferred.
- Define technical specifications, DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, and design documentation.
- Ensure sensor designs meet environmental, thermal, EMC, vibration, and durability requirements.
- Perform vehicle-level packaging, mounting, and alignment strategies for sensors.
- Manage change control, design updates, and engineering releases.
- Collaborate with manufacturing for tooling, assembly, process validation, and plant readiness.
- Provide engineering support during prototype builds, VP/TT/PP builds, and launch readiness
- Education : Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering,
Mechanical Engineering
, Mechatronics
, Automotive Engineering
, or related field.
- 3–8 years of experience in automotive ADAS hardware or sensor design
. - Strong expertise in CATIA V5/V6.
- Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, APQP, PPAP processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for supplier and cross-functional interaction.
- Ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines.
- Experience in a fast-paced product development environment (OEM/Tier-1).
- Exposure to global regulatory requirements for ADAS and NCAP ratings.
