BESS Project Manager Scale Energy Storage; Germany

JDRoss have continued our partnership with a client who have been planning, building and operating photovoltaic systems for over 20 years. As well as working on the development of these projects they also work as a service provider and asset manager for over 300 solar and BESS projects throughout Germany.

They have just started working on large utility scale BESS projects throughout Germany, securing 15 projects with most ranging from 15MW to 63MW. The BESS Project Manager will come on board to take on the central leadership of the project team. Your main responsibility is overall coordination and ensuring that project goals are achieved. You will manage challenging and diverse large-scale battery storage projects through all phases, planning and design to implementation and successful commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, including defining objectives, timelines and resources.
• Lead and motivate the project team, ensure effective collaboration and maintain optimal project schedules.
• Act as the central point of contact for all stakeholders and provide regular progress reports.
• Continuously track project status and ensure compliance with time, budget, and quality requirements.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities and develop strategies to minimise risks.
• Ensure that project outcomes meet established standards and requirements.

Your Profile

• Successfully completed degree in engineering (e.g., civil engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable qualification).
• Several years of professional experience in project management and/or site management of large-scale projects in energy plant construction, energy technology or construction.
• Excellent German language skills (at least C1 level); good English skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel within Germany (approx. 20–50%).
