- Description Leidos is seeking a motivated, detailed-oriented problem-solver to join our modeling and simulation team as an Aerospace Modeling and Simulation Engineer in Dayton, OH. You will play a valuable part in developing and testing models of aerospace systems, to include air-launched weapons; ballistic missile systems; avionics; hypersonic vehicles; and guidance, navigation, and controls across a wide range of projects and programs.

Primary Responsibilities
* Develop, integrate, and test models of aerospace systems based on provided information, research, and engineering principles.
* Document model performance against requirements.
* Document algorithm design.
* Work collaboratively with an engineering team comprised of internal and external team members.
* Interact with external stakeholders to define requirements and perform model demonstrations. ​

Basic Qualifications:

* Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university
* Candidate must have 2+ years’ experience
* Experience with 3

DOF/6

DOF flight models
* Experience in MATLAB/Simulink
* Experience with system level requirements
* Detailed understanding of the systems engineering process
* Demonstrates solid understanding and intuition of the functionality and interdependency of aerospace systems
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders
* Organizational skills to document work and interface with team members to ensure flow of information
* Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a Secret Clearance and meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a TS/SCI Clearance.
* Candidate must be local to or willing to relocate to the Dayton, OH area.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in C++ or Python
* Experience integrating and testing GNC algorithms
