Location: Waterville

Do you enjoy working with customers and being the link between manufacturing, product development, and applications development? We are seeking a Product Engineer to support our Engineered Products Global Fibers' markets. In this role, the Product Engineer will collaborate with plant process and manufacturing engineers, as well as the commercial team, to address internal and external product quality issues. This position reports to the Senior Application Development Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

Providing internal technical service to Operations for customer issues and complaints related to existing and new products.

Ensuring accurate and consistent product definitions and quality criteria across all production sites for the responsible product line.

Communicating regularly with other Product Engineers to exchange best practices.

Leading new product and process development during scale-up phases at JM's and customer manufacturing facilities.

Developing product definitions for potential new developments that offer customer value.

Monitoring competitor technology and product platforms, providing feedback to technical and business teams.

Leading issue analysis using problem-solving techniques and DMAIC approaches.

Managing complaint resolution responses collaboratively with Key Account Managers, External Technical Service Engineers, Customer Service, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Expanding focus from filamentization to packaging.

Maintaining internal documentation of product specifications.

Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in product or process engineering.
Experience with data collection and statistical analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
Experience designing solutions for equipment issues.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
High energy, creativity, and entrepreneurial drive.
Experience working in or willingness to work in a production environment.
Ability to deliver on project goals.
Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.
Strong sense of urgency.
Willingness to work hands-on solving mechanical issues.
Background in glass manufacturing is a plus.
