About Our Internship Program:

Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad. The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network.

Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence. Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.

The Job:

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support the Design to Value (DTV) Engineering Team with key activities including:

* Ownership of the planning and execution of a DTV Event for a specific product portfolio.

* Building and maintaining project schedules to execute on time events.

* Executing product teardowns and generating cost out ideas.

* Vetting the cost out ideas in a collaborative environment with a range of stakeholders including Engineering, Product Marketing, Sourcing, & Operations.

* Loading and facilitating the cost out ideas using a variety of software including Microsoft Excel, Smart Sheets, and Protrak.

* Development of critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for reporting and tracking.

* Continuous Improvement - make suggestions for opportunities to improve our process and delivery of new cost out opportunities.

You will have exposure to several areas of the DTV Engineering Team at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals, including Engineering, Product Marketing, Sourcing, & Operations.

The Person :

The ideal Mechanical Engineering intern candidate will have the following qualifications:

* Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2027 or 2028.

* Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

* Maintains strong academic credentials.

* Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.

* Exemplifies strong project management and communication skills.

* Possess resiliency in your ability to break down barriers and think creatively.

* Be a self-starter that is to drive toward long-term goals with minimal supervision.
