We have an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer SME to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) M‑Code Aviation Receiver (MAR) Joint Program Office (JPO) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH.

The AFLCMC M‑Code Aviation Receiver Joint Program Office manages systems that provide precise positioning, navigation, and timing information to a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems, including SDUE, MAGR‑2000, EGI, DAGR, GAS‑1, ADAP, and R‑EGI.

Some of these systems are in initial development while others undergo modernization to respond to new threats, improve supportability, and adopt open architecture standards and digital engineering best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle of MAR systems, from requirements definition through development, test, fielding, and sustainment.
  • Translate operational and mission needs into clear, traceable system, subsystem, and interface requirements.
  • Develop, review, and manage system specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and technical baselines.
  • Perform trade studies and technical analyses to evaluate alternative designs, architectures, and technologies.
  • Ensure requirements traceability across design, implementation, integration, and verification activities.
  • Support integration of Multi‑GNSS and navigation subsystems into DoD fixed‑wing and rotary aircraft platforms.
  • Support system integration, developmental testing, and operational testing to verify and validate system performance.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, configuration audits, and milestone events.
  • Support Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and open architecture implementation to enhance flexibility and upgradeability.
  • Provide systems engineering support for PNT, NAVWAR compliance, GPS security certification, airworthiness, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks; support risk management planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with program management, test, logistics, cybersecurity, and acquisition teams to ensure technical alignment.
  • Support development and maintenance of Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), requirements documents, and related program artifacts.
  • Provide technical input to acquisition strategies, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Support sustainment engineering activities including obsolescence management, technology refresh, and system modernization efforts.
Requirements
  • Holds an active Top Secret clearance.
  • Master's or Doctorate in a related field with 10 years of technical experience, five of which must be in DoD acquisition.
  • Or bachelor's in a related field with 15 years of technical experience, five of which must be in DoD acquisition.
  • Or 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in DoD acquisition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
