Engineering Technician

As an Engineering Technician in our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting engineering and operational functions. Your responsibilities will include maintaining joint-use records, coordinating field and regulatory activities, negotiating new joint-use agreements, and administering existing agreements. Additionally, you will assist with joint-use attachments recordkeeping, conduct field surveys to verify and maintain joint-use facilities, and work with governmental highway departments to obtain permits and be involved in assisting with Ohio Utilities Protection Services requests.

You will inspect, test, and calibrate specialty electrical equipment, and provide after-hours call answering and dispatching support during severe outage conditions. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as computer proficiency, with GIS mapping experience being a plus. An Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, and two years of utility distribution office experience is desirable, with field experience considered a bonus.
