Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Test Technician to support testing and validation activities. This role focuses on data acquisition, controls setup, and industrial signal communication within an electronics environment. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with National Instruments hardware/software, wiring practices, and instrumentation selection for test stands.
Responsibilities- Configure and operate data acquisition systems for electronic testing.
- Set up and wire control systems, ensuring proper signal integrity and safety compliance.
- Work with industrial communication protocols (4–20 mA, Ethernet/IP, voltage signals).
- Select and install thermocouples for temperature measurement applications.
- Specify and configure DC power supplies for test stands, considering load requirements and safety standards.
- Determine appropriate wire gauge and type for various circuits and environments.
- Troubleshoot and verify communication between devices (CAN, Ethernet/IP).
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate test data and system reliability.
- Experience with National Instruments platforms (Compact
DAQ, cRIO, NI‑DAQmx, LabVIEW). - Proficiency in test setup, LabVIEW, and Compact
RIO. - Experience with DAQ system components: sensors (thermocouples, strain gauges), signal conditioning (amplifiers, filters, isolation).
- Strong understanding of industrial signal protocols and wiring practices.
- Knowledge of thermocouple types and cold‑junction compensation principles.
- Ability to size and select DC power supplies for various applications.
- Proficiency in wire gauge selection based on ampacity and voltage drop.
The work environment involves using advanced technologies and equipment related to National Instruments hardware and software. Employees are expected to maintain high standards of safety compliance and ensure the reliability of testing systems.
Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Dayton, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 – $33.00 per hour.
