Senior Battery Materials Scientist – Woodland, TX, US

Job Summary:

We are hiring a Battery Materials Scientist to support GEO’s growing U.S. customer base through hands-on lab work, technical troubleshooting, and customer-facing execution. This senior-level individual contributor role is the technical bridge between customers and internal R&D, ensuring products align with customer specifications. Initial onboarding in China with potential travel to California, Tennessee, and other customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, categorize, and deliver electrolyte samples that meet precise customer specifications
  • Act as the technical point of contact for key accounts — translating customer needs into inputs for R&D and sales
  • Support logistics, shipping, and documentation to ensure smooth sample delivery and issue resolution
  • Travel a minimum of 30% to customer sites for support and relationship management
  • Assist with lab setup and maintenance, including equipment oversight and quality control of sample preparation
  • Collaborate with global R&D, sales, and manufacturing teams for timely technical service
  • Represent GEO at conferences, industry meetings, and customer-facing events
  • Serve as a technical advisor and project lead on battery materials initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Master’s or PhD in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years experience in battery materials, chemical R&D, or related technical role; lithium-ion experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience preparing/testing electrolytes or advanced battery materials
  • Ability to lead technical conversations with senior customer stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong lab, documentation, and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and project leadership abilities
  • Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred but not required
  • Willingness to travel: 30%+ domestically, 10%+ internationally; onboarding in China for 2–3 weeks

Sales Manager – North America

Job Summary:

The Senior Sales Manager will lead business development and account strategy efforts across key automotive and Tier 1 manufacturing customers, expanding GEO’s footprint in the North American battery market. The ideal candidate has a strong background in chemical materials and experience managing large enterprise relationships across technical and commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and drive account strategy, relationship management, and revenue growth with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
  • Translate customer needs into actionable internal plans across sales, technical, and R&D teams
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing, and commercial planning
  • Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and proposals
  • Monitor market trends and identify business development opportunities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product introductions
  • Represent GEO at industry events and customer meetings
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
  • 5–8 years of technical B2B sales experience in chemical materials or battery industry
  • Deep knowledge of electrolytes, lithium-ion systems, and OEM purchasing cycles
  • Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and closing large deals
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills
