Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all purchasing activities related to Product Engineering (PE) requirements. This multi‑project role supports specific teams while incorporating sourcing standards set by Global Sourcing and meeting company business objectives.
Essential Duties- Influences PE projects using concurrent engineering principles to leverage the supplier base's resources and propose alternatives to product architecture and processes to achieve best quality, lead times and cost.
- Identifies, evaluates, and negotiates with suppliers that offer a competitive advantage. Leads all quoting, new product development contractual negotiations and award of business for sourcing that meets company requirements for PE projects while executing commodity sourcing strategies.
- Manages the organization’s RFP process and evaluates potential suppliers to ensure cost, quality, inventory levels, and supply chain operations meet organizational needs.
- Drives cost reduction/improvement, avoidance and control throughout PE projects.
- Initiates and leads design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews with Quality and Product Engineering.
- Responsible for supplier risk assessment and mitigation from start of project to production.
- Coordinates evaluation, selection and approval process ensuring suppliers adhere to project scope and timing.
- Manages product launch ramp‑up and transfer to production aligning with commodity strategies and project timelines.
- Maintains project purchased standard cost data and measurable metrics.
- Leads engagement and communication with Commodity Sourcing Leads, Operation Buyers, Design Engineers, and Supplier Quality Engineer throughout the project.
- Holds and continuously seeks out a high level of product, process, and commodity market knowledge.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university in supply chain, business or engineering or related field and 3‑5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- ERP experience, preferably with Oracle

- Demonstrates success working on cross‑functional teams to prioritize and manage goals and initiatives amidst competing priorities
