Project Manager - Solar

Overview

As the Project Manager for Solar Installations and Energy Storage, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of large-scale solar PV and BESS projects, from site assessment and design to installation, quality control, and final commissioning. This senior role demands strong technical expertise in large-scale solar PV systems and commercial BESS, as well as exceptional project management skills. You will also participate hands-on in the installation process, working closely with your team to ensure every project meets the highest quality, safety, and performance standards.

• Manage end-to-end solar and BESS projects from initial assessment through commissioning and handover, with an emphasis on large ground-mount installations and commercial energy storage solutions.
• Direct hands-on participation in installations of solar panels, inverters, racking, and BESS components.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and procurement teams to ensure the technical and logistical feasibility of complex ground-mount and storage projects.
• Lead site assessments and surveys to determine optimal layout, shading, and soil analysis for large ground-mount systems.
• Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficient, on-budget completion, particularly for larger, more complex projects.
• Oversee the integration and commissioning of BESS, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and operational standards.
• Ensure quality assurance and safety by conducting thorough inspections of installations to verify alignment with industry regulations and company protocols.
• Document and manage all project records, including permits, regulatory compliance, safety procedures, and project progress reports.
• Mentor, train, and supervise installation teams, with a strong emphasis on best practices for large-scale installations and battery systems.
• Provide troubleshooting and issue resolution during installation and commissioning phases, particularly with BESS and ground-mount challenges.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction through effective communication and service excellence, particularly in understanding and addressing unique client requirements for larger systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in solar PV and/or energy storage installation preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in solar PV installation, including 1-2 years in a project management role, preferably with experience in large ground-mount and/or commercial battery storage systems.
• Strong technical understanding of solar PV, BESS, electrical systems, and construction practices for large installations.
• Proven experience managing budgets, timelines, and project teams on larger, more complex projects.
• NABCEP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
