Prime Air is seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Flight Monitor to join our dynamic team. This critical role is central to our commitment to delivering packages safely, efficiently, and reliably through our advanced drone fleet. The Flight Monitor will be responsible for real-time monitoring of drone flights, ensuring operational compliance, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Key job responsibilities- Continuously monitor the status of all active drone flights within the assigned region, utilizing our state‑of‑the‑art monitoring systems.
- Ensure all drone flights comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
- Coordinate effectively with the relevant teams to implement immediate response strategies to mitigate risks and resolve situations.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on flight activities, incidents, and anomalies. Provide feedback and insights to support continuous operational improvement.
- Utilize excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills while maintaining a high attention to detail in all tasks.
- Ability to work in and lead a team.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills while working effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
- Adhere to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes.
- Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs., stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach.
- Work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work in an environment where the noise level varies and is subject to variable temperatures and weather (outside temperature, and include refrigerated environments).
- May require travel, up to 25% of the time.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of weather patterns for flight operations.
- Experience interpreting flight monitoring systems or similar technical platforms.
- Experience with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations or similar technical platforms.
- Experience working with computer systems and troubleshooting.
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
- Experience in aviation, drone operations, or a similar real‑time monitoring role.
- Experience with technical or engineering record‑keeping methods and tools.
- Can show excellent decision‑making capabilities under pressure.
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation.
- Can show ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
