LCC Student Ministry Director (Part Time/Weekend)

Objective / Summary

The Student Ministry Director will be the primary leader and overseer of the youth programming and discipleship at Loveland Christian Church. This person’s primary focus is to train and empower students, parents and volunteers to minister to individuals from 6-12th Grade.

The Student Ministry Director will need to be biblically knowledgeable, emotionally mature, able to engage with people, and build connections with all age groups in our congregation. Understanding and communicating how Student Ministry fits into the greater church body is critical.

The successful candidate will be comfortable becoming a member of Loveland Christian Church and will be aligned with our mission, core values and doctrinal belief statements. This person will be part of a combined leadership team consisting of elders and all staff.

Essential Functions

This is a highly collaborative role that will work directly with teachers, helpers and students to design age-appropriate faith-building programs. This is a ministry of empowerment encouraging student leadership whenever possible. It will also be important to collaborate with all other ministries and staff to maintain and help build a vibrant, learning, growing and sending church.

  • Lead, or coordinate classes or workshops offering training to different age groups based on congregational needs, such as baptism, parenting, marriage, cultural issues, etc.
  • Involvement with and proactive planning of age-appropriate youth conferences, mission trips, local (regional) groups, school liaison, and other student focused community outreach events as determined.
  • Different personality types can succeed in this role. However, this person will need to be comfortable speaking in front of groups when needed.
Education and Experience

Experience in a related area, which can include part-time or volunteer work.
