PhD Fellows/PhD candidates (f/m/d)
Salary TV-L E 13 (0.75)
The positions are initially for a fixed term of 3 years with the possibility of an extension and will be filled subject to regulatory approval.
The employment is regulated by the Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act, §2 (1) (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). Therefore, candidates may only be considered for appointment if they still have the respective qualification periods available in accordance with § 2 (1) WissZeitVG.
The Diginomics Research Group investigates the impact of digitalization on businesses and the economy. Now in its fourth cohort, the research group has investigated topics such as how individuals react to digitalization in their work, the transformation of business and operation models in increasingly digital markets, or different scenarios of the digitalization of currencies. As a collaborative research group of the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics, the group leverages the expertise and experience of its faculty, and facilitates research on subjects, which transcend traditional, disciplinary boundaries within business, and economics research.
Specifically, for this cohort, the focus will be on the topic “Still made by humans? The ambivalence of automation and augmentation”. Digital technologies have the potential to automate organizational processes and tasks as well as to augment human behaviour. In doing so, they can substantially transform how organizations manage teams, innovate and market their products and services, and organize their information systems.
Exemplary research questions include (i) individuals’ perceptions of and reactions to automation, (ii) automation’s transformational impact on work and innovation processes, and (iii) the outcomes of human–machine collaboration and the conditions shaping these relationships.
