Kwara State Government has declared vacancies for 2,701 teachers in its basic schools across specific subjects through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The government has also advertised placements for 2,000 teachers in some specific subjects in the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) based on a needs‑assessment conducted in the commission.
Applicants for the SUBEB jobs must have a Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and at least five O’ Level Credit passes in Mathematics, English, and three other relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.
Applicants for the TESCOM jobs must have bachelor’s degrees in relevant subjects and teaching qualifications in strict compliance with the National Policy of Education and Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN). They must also have at least five O’ level credit passes at not more than two sittings, including Mathematics and English language.
Holders of a PGD in Education and those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in relevant subject areas may also apply for the TESCOM jobs.
Age requirements: SUBEB candidates should not be younger than 22 years old; TESCOM candidates should not be older than 35 years old.
Application Process- Application portal for SUBEB jobs will open on Sunday, 3rd January and close at midnight on Saturday, 16th January 2021.
- Written examinations for SUBEB will be held on Monday, 25th January 2021 at 10 am.
- Oral interviews for SUBEB will take place from Monday, 1st February to Saturday, 6th February 2021.
- Application portal for TESCOM jobs will open on Sunday, 3rd January 2021 and run for two weeks.
- Qualifying examinations for TESCOM will be held on Monday, 25th January 2021.
- Oral interviews for TESCOM will run from Monday, 8th February to Saturday, 13th February 2021.
Venues of the examinations and oral interviews will be communicated to the applicants at a later date.
The government says the job placements are open to all qualified persons and that only the best candidates will emerge from the process that is designed to produce teachers with the right qualifications and competence to build generations of Kwarans to compete anywhere in the world.
