Kenyon College invites applications for a Visiting position in Chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in July 2026.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate chemistry in a liberal arts environment with a five-course load per year, across the curriculum, with potential to offer an advanced course in the area of expertise.
- Mentor students in the classroom and laboratory; engage in effective pedagogy and support student learning.
- Collaborate within the department and with interdisciplinary majors (biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, environmental studies).
- Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field (or completion by the start of the fall semester).
- Some research or teaching experience in experimental organic chemistry; candidates with connections to environmental and physical chemistry are encouraged to apply.

- In the cover letter and other documents, explain why you would thrive teaching at Kenyon and how you will promote an inclusive, culturally and intellectually diverse educational environment; cite specific examples of past accomplishments and prospective ideas.
- Include a personal narrative in the teaching statement about teaching and learning chemistry, showing how students are viewed as learners and describing concrete teaching activities.

Compensation and benefitsSalaries are competitive and commensurate with experience. Visiting faculty are provided professional development funds, eligible for Kenyon grants, have access to research space, and may supervise undergraduate research students.
