What You’ll Do
This position is entitled to a 10% supplement. This position works under general direction & requires considerable knowledge of teacher education.
- Provides instruction in basic education needs (e.g., reading, writing, mathematics)
- Assesses educational needs of inmates
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individual assignments and training
- Provides instruction and individual assistance
- Administers, scores and interprets examinations and proficiency indicators
- Maintains discipline and/or security
- Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior and/or personal problems.
- Attends meetings as required
- Prepares required records and reports (e.g., enrollment, grades, student progress)
- Inventories and orders supplies and materials needed
- Researches, selects, and recommends new teaching materials.
- Attends in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
- Performs other duties as assigned
Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for grade level & area of specialization to be assigned;
Teacher 1, 71111, must also have baccalaureate degree or less.
